Montana has 56 counties, each with their own trial courts. The Superior Court handles all criminal felony cases as well as civil cases, in which damages exceed $3,000. All appellate review is handled by the Montana Supreme Court.

The three largest cities in Montana are Billings, Missoula, and Great Falls.
